Ko's Journey

Ko's Journey is a rich story-based math game. Designed for both home and classroom use, Ko's Journey can be used as support curriculum to teach early middle-school math. From simple functions such as multiplication and division to calculating area, understanding graphs to pre-algebra concepts, Ko's Journey aims to provide a motivating and effective learning environment for 5th to 8th grade students to learn the core, most important concepts in middle-school math. Find us on the web at www.kosjourney.com to order a classroom or individual license and prepare your students in a fun and creative way for state tests with the release of the game in February 2010.

"The biggest problem in education is the giving of answers to questions that have not yet been asked."

Art Combs, Author of The Schools We Need

Imagine Education builds rich, story-based math games- learning environments- where students ask questions about math with a natural curiosity that forms their relationship to the subject. Students meet math with authentic purpose, where it is embedded and contextualized in a story coherent with the content, fundamentally creating the foundation to not only math, but learning in general.

We believe that when a student encounters a math problem, they should have a sense of purpose about why they are negotiating that challenge, and that the problem should make sense within the story. Research shows that this type of contextualized, thematic learning builds neuron networks within the brain and improves comprehension.

"With a truly thoughtful story-based approach, the student's emotional relationship to math is formed on a foundation of purpose."

- Jennifer Harris, Financial/Creative Advisor for Imagine Education

We want students to say, "Hey, it makes sense why I would be using this type of math here!" And, we believe it has a profound impact on student learning to engage their imagination in story.

Imagine Education knows the middle-school classroom. The games were developed by a middle-school math teacher in the classroom over a span of seven years, and tested by math teachers in public and private school settings. We know the stresses of teachers in meeting standards, improving scores, and keeping students engaged. Built with simplicity and clarity in mind, Imagine Education Math Games are built with the latest in technology but without ugly bells and whistles that make classroom teaching or homeschooling more complicated.

Imagine Education will release a first-of-its-kind story-based math game in February 2010 called Ko's Journey.
